In Spring 2015, we expanded its agency footprint into central Virginia, working with Curtis Contracting, Inc., on the Route 60 Widening Project in Chesterfield County. Through this $8.5 million design-build contract, a 1.25-mile, highly-traveled stretch of Route 60 in Midlothian is being widened from four lanes to six lanes. Curtis Contracting turned to us for public affairs and stakeholder engagement supporting the project. Working closely with Curtis project management and Chesterfield transportation and public affairs teams, our Richmond-based public information officer (PIO) engages Midlothian residents, businesses and motorists with construction updates and safety messaging on the project’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Through established relationships with Richmond news media, we have secured positive project coverage by Richmond Times-Dispatch, Chesterfield Observer, WRVA and WCVE news radio, and local TV stations WTVR and NBC12. Presentations to homeowner association leaders and business groups have enabled the project team to personally reach key stakeholders throughout the duration of the project.
